Residential trips

Residentials

Part of our school values are to explore new interests and raise aspirations, and a key element that contributes to this is learning outside of the classroom. Learning outside the classroom can help teachers create enthusiasm for learning, provide a real-world context and expose students to a range of STEM careers. Students who experience learning outside the classroom benefit from increased self-esteem and become more engaged in their education.

Year 4 Barnstondale
April 2022

Year 4 had a magnificent time visiting Barnstondale for their extended Challenge Day. We completed a range of morning activities including climbing, absieling and a night line, where we had to trust one another. In the afternoon, we were able to shoot pistols, complete a challenge course and do some orienteering around the site. We finished the day of we a lovely camp fire. What a brilliant day we had!
Y6 PGL
March 2022

Year 6 spent four superb days at PGL in Shrewsbury this week - what an amazing time!
We completed so many activities that we wouldn't have been able to do in school: canoeing, zip lines, rifle shooting and high ropes challenges.

It was great to see the children working as team, developing their independence and facing their fears to complete new challenges. Everyone had a brilliant time although we will need the weekend to recover!
