Year 3 News
It has been an exciting week in Year 3 with the start of our STEM week and we celebrated World Book Day with a range of fun, book-related activities. The children had the opportunity to learn how to illustrate a book, take part in a virtual lesson about how to choose the right book for them, and even create their own unique bookmarks to take home. It was fantastic to see their enthusiasm for reading and creativity shine through!
In Maths, we have been working hard on measurement, focusing on converting millimeters to centimeters and centimeters to meters. On Friday, we kicked off STEM Week with a variety of interactive Maths games that helped to reinforce our understanding of addition, subtraction, and times tables. The children had a great time challenging themselves and each other in these problem-solving activities.
In Science, we explored food labels, discussing the different types of information they provide and why they are important for making healthy choices. The children were fascinated to learn about the nutritional values of different foods and enjoyed investigating real-life food packaging.
In PE, we continued developing our skills in Goalball and Tennis, working on coordination, accuracy, and teamwork. Luckily, the weather has been kind to us, allowing us to take our lessons outside and make the most of the fresh air. It has been a fantastic week of learning and we hope you have a wonderful weekend! Year 3 are excited for our upcoming Roman trip on Tuesday!
