Year 3 News

Year 3 have had a fantastic time this term, exploring a range of exciting topics across the curriculum. In Maths, we worked on addition and subtraction with exchanging, building our confidence and problem-solving skills. In Science, we investigated weathering and discovered how natural forces shape the environment around us. Our RE lessons focused on the Christmas story, where we reflected on its meaning and significance during this festive season. In DT, we explored the features of castles and used our newfound knowledge to design our own creative and unique castles. PE has been equally busy as we continued to develop our skills in basketball and gymnastics, improving our coordination, strength, and teamwork. Well done to everyone in Year 3 for all your hard work and enthusiasm!

Year 4 News w/c 19/11/24

It was a fantastic week, packed with exciting topics! The children explored fact families in Maths, stepped into the role of 'George' to write emotive diary entries in English, delved into the Viking invasions in History, and rocked out to the sounds of the Rock and Roll era in Music. In Science, the pupils began learning about the electrical components needed to create a simple circuit. They also took part in a non-uniform day to raise money for Children in Need, and we were thrilled by the generous Christmas boxes they created, which will soon be sent to children in Eastern Europe. Thank you all for your support. Wishing you a restful weekend—we're looking forward to another wonderful week on Monday!

Year 5

Year 5 have begun to learn our parts for the Christmas Carol Service. The children have, as always, risen to the occasion and produced some thought-provoking work and discussions.

We have also started to read our new text in English – ‘Rainforest Warrior’ - this has been very interesting text full of true facts about an activist called Chico Mendes and his fight to save the rainforest. The book has given us lots to talk about and the class discussions have been amazing.

In history we learnt about the Martin Luther and his struggles with the Catholic Church. He wanted to see reform and his efforts eventually lead to the creation of the Protestant Church.
