At Brackenwood Junior School, we are proud to offer our pupils the opportunity to develop their leadership skills through key roles such as Head Boy, Head Girl, School Prefect, and Sports Prefect. Each year, Year 5 pupils are invited to apply for these positions in preparation for taking on their responsibilities when they move into Year 6.
Applications are carefully reviewed by the Year 6 team and our Headteacher, with prefects selected through a fair and thoughtful process.
Our prefects play an important role in school life, supporting with end-of-day routines, welcoming parents and guests at school events, assisting lunchtime staff, leading school tours for new pupils and families, and much more.
Sports Prefects work alongside Mr Williams, our PE Lead, helping to set up games during lunch breaks and assisting with the organisation of sporting events, including Sports Day.
These roles give our pupils a valuable opportunity to contribute to the school community, while building confidence, responsibility, and leadership skills that will support them throughout their education and beyond.
