Year 3 News
This week in Year 3 has been full of exciting activities for our Children's Mental Health Week and for our Number Day! In Maths, we explored using flexible partitioning to solve division problems, sharpening our problem-solving skills. In English, we got imaginative by crafting our own headlines for our book and became more confident in using exclamation marks and inverted commas. Science lessons focused on seed dispersal and pollination, sparking curiosity about plant life cycles. Our artistic side flourished as we created vibrant art pieces inspired by Sandra Silberzweig’s techniques, with stunning outcomes! In PE, we continued to develop our yoga skills and refined our shotput techniques. Music sessions were filled with energy as we honed our vocal skills through Viking chants and songs. In RE, we reflected on what makes each of us unique and connected this to our learning about Sikhism.
We are eagerly looking forward to next week's Valentine's Day disco and our Call Me Lion immersion day, where we can dress up in our best disco gear for a fantastic celebration! Have a great weekend!
Year 4 News
We've had an exciting week full of fantastic learning! Today is Number Day, and the children have enjoyed dressing up with numbers and taking part in a variety of fun maths activities. We've also entered a national TTRS competition, where the children had 60 minutes to answer as many questions as possible—it’s been amazing to see their determination!
In English, the children have been writing conclusions and publishing their non-chronological reports on the Vikings, producing some wonderfully detailed pieces. In Maths, they’ve been working on division with remainders, tackling some tricky problems with confidence. Music lessons have been filled with the sound of ukuleles as the children learn a new song, while in PE, they’ve been challenging themselves with circuit training.
Well done to everyone for their hard work—have a great weekend!
