Year 3 News
This week in Year 3, we continued our assessment week, and the children have worked incredibly hard on their tests—well done to everyone! In English, we explored setting descriptions, using our imaginations to describe different planets in detail. In Maths, we started our fractions unit, learning about unit and non-unit fractions. In DT, we had an exciting time designing a product using wearable technology and microbits. In Spanish, we continued learning the names of classroom items and how to say them in Spanish. Our History lessons focused on Boudicca and why she was an important historical figure. In RE, we had thoughtful discussions about the 12 disciples of Jesus. Well done for a fantastic week, and have a wonderful weekend!
Year 4 NewsÂ
Year 4 has been busy preparing for an upcoming performance, practicing their ukulele songs with great enthusiasm! In Maths, we have been developing our understanding of fractions by finding equivalent fractions, simplifying them, and adding and subtracting mixed numbers. In English, we have started reading Escape to Pompeii, exploring the rich vocabulary used to describe the volcano and its devastating eruption. Our History lessons have taken us back to Ancient Greece, where we have been learning about the key differences between Sparta and Athens. The children took part in a lively conscience alley activity, using persuasive arguments to convince someone to live in either Sparta or Athens. It has been a fantastic week of learning and discovery!
