Macmillan Coffee Morning
30.9.22
We held a Macmillan coffee morning today to support Macmillan Cancer Support and the essential work that the charity does in supporting ill people. Thank you to anyone who donated cakes or purchased them at our cake sale. It was lovely to have parents in school to support the morning.
TTRS Day
30.9.22
To celebrate Times Table Rock Stars Day, children arrived in school ready to rock out to some times table tunes. Knowing times tables is one of the foundations of maths so to see so many children engaged in learning was brilliant to see.
Thumbs Up
30.9.22
It is great to have Thumbs Up in school currently. The team are supporting Year 6 to understand the power of positivity. The social and emotional health of our pupils is very important to us at Brackenwood Juniors and we are fortunate to have Thumbs Up in to support us with this.
8.9.22
Everyone at Oak Trees MAT is deeply saddened by the death of Queen Elizabeth II and we are all so grateful for her service to the nation. We will ensure that our pupils understand how she helped our country to grow and the how her achievements and legacies continue to improve both Great Britain and the world.
Welcome Back!
7.9.22
We would like to welcome all of children and their families back to school this week. We hope you have all had a relaxing Summer in the sunshine.
Year 6 have had a wonderful week. Their behaviour has been exemplary and they are clearly role models for our younger children! In writing, the children are eagerly working towards an application to become School Ambassadors, Head boy, Head Girl and are already demonstrating how amazing they would all be for these jobs.
Year 5 have started the term with hard-work and determination. In Re, the children have been looking at the word precious and considering things that they care about are special to them. In PE the children have been Tudor dancing. There was lots of fun had and a few giggles at how the dances were so different to the modern day.
Year 4 have been working hard on their presentation in writing, whilst carefully unpicking the features of a Non-Chronological Report. They have identified both language and structural features of this genre of writing.
Year 3 have settled in tremendously well and are showing what responsible, kind and courteous pupils they all are.
We are delighted to have completed our first week at Brackenwood Juniors and we look forward to the rest of the term.
