The Year 5 and 6 children made us very proud on Tuesday, after taking part in a Futsal Competition at Tranmere Rovers. The children showed a superb attitude to sports and had loads of fun representing Brackenwood Junior School.
Thank you to our BFG this week for organising an extremely successful Movie Night. The children had an amazing time!
Oak Trees MAT Diversity Celebrations took place this week! Each Year group made a lovely video that celebrated The Deaf Society, Wirral's Blind Society, Rovers against Racism, Same Sex Families and LGBT.

What an exciting and eventful week this week!
The whole school raised awareness against bullying and took part in anti-bullying workshops and the mammoth danceathon took place for Children in Need. The entire school danced their socks off from 8:30am-3:30am. We all got to meet Pudsey, it was so much fun!
Year 3 have worked extremely hard investigating properties of rocks. We certainly have some aspiring geologist amongst us.
Year 4 loved their visit from the Viking. Reenacting life as a Viking.
Year 5 squeezed in a school trip to Birkenhead Priory and learned how our local area was affected by Henry VIII's reformation of the Church during Tudor times.
Year 6 have worked extremely hard on their diversity artwork celebrating the LGBT community. Keep spreading the positive message Year 6!
07.11.22 - Diversity Continues
What an inspiring assembly given by Wirral's Deaf Society this week. Mark who is profoundly deaf shared his story with the children by signing and a big thank you to Vicky for interpreting Marks signing to us all. The children asked so many fascinating questions in which Mark kindly shared his views on from a deaf person perspective. Mark spoke to the children about working together to share awareness of others needs. Being profoundly deaf has not stopped Mark from being vibrant and fun! He truly was an inspiration to all.
Well done to the football team who played a sensational match on Thursday! Superb sports people representing Brackenwood Junior School.
Year 5 experienced a workshop from High Impact this week. They programmed micro:bits and used our computing skills to manipulate the devices. Great learning and input Year 5 - Keep it Up!
Diversity month has kick started with an amazing assembly from Wirral's Blind Society. It was extremely informative and the children asked lots of interesting questions. Year 4 will be experiencing a workshop that is being delivered from a blind person next week.
Year 5 had a workshop delivered from Rovers against racism. Big thanks to Andy Heywood for supporting the school in delivering such a fun and interesting workshop for the children.
