Competitions
We are proud to compete in a variety of Level 2 and Level 3 events around Wirral and Liverpool.
Here you will find brief reports about the competitions we compete in.
Year 3 and 4 Rugby
13.10.22
Today was the turn of our Lower Key Stage Two pupils to participate in their tag rugby competition at Anselmians Rugby Club in Eastham. It was another competition that our school had never taken part in so it was brilliant to see the team enjoying the opportunity to play against other schools. All of the players participated well in the four group games. Well done everyone!
Commonwealth Legacy Festival
11.10.22
After the success of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, Wirral Schools Games orgranised an event which enabled pupils to participate in some the sports that took place at the games. 7 children travelled to the event and took part in invidiual and team sports. Everyone had a great time competing in new and interesting activities.
Bebington High football Festival
10.10.22
As part of our school network PE package, Bebington High School kindly organised a football tournament for local school. The emphasis was taken away from getting through to a final and was more about children enjoying and participating in competitive football. Our team played superbly and won all three of their matches. We are all very excited for our next competition.
Rugby Competition
6.10.22
Today, we participated in a sport which we haven't competed in for several years - tag rugby. A team of Y6 pupils travelled to Anselmians Rugby Club in Eastham to compete against other local school. Even though this was a new sport to most of the team, we managed to get through to the semi-finals, which is a massive achievement. It was great to see the players' determination; we can't wait to play tag rugby again!
Cross Country
6.10.22
Once again the cross-country team participated with pride and smiles on their faces against many other Wirral schools. Today's race was at Arrowe Park and even though it wasn't raining this time, the children had t0 face muddy conditions to get around the track. Showing excellent levels of endurance. all of the runners participated well. We're looking forward to the next race in two weeks time.
Cross Country
22.9.22
Today Brackenwood pupils participated in their first Wirral Cross Country race for several years. It was brilliant to watch children from years 4, 5 and 6 compete against other local schools at Birkenhead Park. Even though the weather was poor, the children participated enthusiastically and with a lot of pride. We are excited to compete again soon.
Sports Week
13.6.22
This week all of the children have competed in Level 1 competitions at school. Sports week enables all of the children to participate in a range of sports and activities. All of the children had great fun and really enjoyed having their adults at school to cheer them on.
